...no SR20 because I was busy driving/picking my jaw up off the floor. Good god are those stunning cars. It took every ounce of strength I had to not turn around and follow it.

Maybe I'm dumb but I'll just throw it out there. What's SR20?

That is oppo shorthand for "pics or it didn't happen".

Thanks! I see it a lot and I kind of deduced the meaning from your post but figured I'd make sure.
You lucky SOB you. Sometimes you have to just drink in the moment instead of taking pics.

What J. Walther said, it's a reference to a user named "SR20 - *something*" who claimed that he owned a Lotus Elise on Oppo quite some time ago before the recent Kinja facelift. He was even featured on the Jalopnik front page when he posted pictures, but it turned out that they weren't his and that he had lied. After much drama he apologized for lying and was forgiven. I think he returned for a short bit for April Fools day this year, actually, but I haven't seen him since.

Correction - He claimed to have an Esprit. Also, to add to the story - the way he got posted to the front page is that he claimed that he got pulled over for speeding in the Esprit, but that the cop that pulled him over recognized his car and was like "Woah, are you SR20 from Jalopnik? I am not going to give a Jalop a ticket, have a nice day!"

Oh yeah, I've only had it told to me second hand.

That would've been an amazing story though LOL
Thanks for the clarification guys!

Whaddya mean, you didn't follow him?
You should have gotten him to pull over, and offered him money for it, there on the side of the road.

GODDAMMIT J WALT. That's twice, right? I demand pictures and stalking is totally acceptable in these circumstances. (the first time was in the shop, if my memory is correct. I'm assuming it was the same car, because if not... sigh... can you tell I'm jealous?)

You have a good memory. Yep, that's twice. It has to be the same car, because I doubt there is any way there are two 959s in Tucson. The mechanic that works on it is a client and the first time I saw the car it was in the shop (the mechanic mentioned to my boss it was in the shop, and we went down there for the explicit purpose of gawking at the car). I was stunned when I saw it on the road today. It was being driven by an older man with a thick white beard. I am very curious to know who it is. We couldn't get the name out of the mechanic.

My memory is a hodgepodge of solid information (usually useless ephemera, like how many times you've seen a particular car, or the name of a character that appeared once, in a comic in the 80s), and swiss cheese holes (usually information that has been forgotten that will probably one day spell my doom because I forgot to set the flux capacitor correctly).
I'm very curious as well as to who owns a 959 here.
